Still in Currais Novos with Elder Alan
dearest loved ones,
only 2 pictures this week, hopefully more next week cuz this computer takes forever to load them. happy birthday to sam sherwood this week, its too bad i wont be there this year to blow up his high school picture for everyone at work.
well the day i get a new comp will be the best day of my life. but the work is pretty well, we are having to post pone a lot of baptisms for several reasons. one guy we are teaching lives in another city so we have to travel there every time we teach him, and since currais novos is in the middle of nowhere, its basically just a 45 minute trip through the jungle until his house. more people we will need to marry before baptism. and whenever you help someone get married the missionaries have to pay for it out of their own pocket, so there are 2 couples we will be doing that with here soon. other people havent been coming to church because they sleep in, but we have a way around that one: we go and wake them up on sunday morning. its hilarious. we go into their house and shake them out of their hammocks until they wake up haha. it works too. they come to church! its the bomb.
a cool thing happened the other night... so we were walking down the street at night and passed by this members house and decided to stop in real quick. we found out that the lady has been really sick, and was praying for help, and as she was praying, the second she said amen, she heard a knock at the door... "and there were the elders" we just happened to be there at that exact moment and be the answer to her prayer, and we were able to give her a blessing to get better. cool stuff like that happens all the time. its awesome being the lord´s messenger.
tell riggs and jax to stick with the piano cuz nobody here in brazil plays and everyone has to sing acapella in sacrament. oh yeah something glorious happened this week. i found the candy bar i have been searching for forever. its a brazilian chocolate bar that i fell in love with in sao paulo and had one in recife and i have been searching everywhere for it here and finally found it at a random little place and it was amazing. i am packing my suitcase full of them when i come home. they are the bomb and there is nothing like them on earth. until next week........

p.s. no, the phrase "the bomb" did not die away in ´95.
it is still very much alive in my heart.

the dog bite ~ ew!
let's hear it for paying for marriage licenses.
and brazilian chocolate, apparently.
The bite still looks bad. He is one tough missionary. Weird companion or not, Brad is really listening to the Spirit. Here's to hoping for a new comp soon!!!
Ok, funny story. A couple of weeks ago a sent my Brad an email getting after him for not writing us, Jen and his grandparents. I got an email the next week from Bradley Keith saying I had sent it to him by mistake. HAHA Their address's are very similar and I just didn't check it very good. I told Bradley Keith that now he knows that my Brad still gets into mom trouble even on his mission :-)
