Brazil MTC email
hey everyone, i am still bitter about the email being deleted last week but i will give you a breif update.
i got called as the new district leader 2 sundays ago and that is going pretty well. the best part is being able to work a lot with my branch president who is a really cool guy. so i have been doing that for the past couple weeks and will probably continue til i leave here which is coming soon by the way and i am excited.
elder bednar was amazing. the minute he walked into the room and we all stood up for him you could just feel that he was an apostle of the Lord. he gave an outstanding talk on missionary work obviously, and relying on the Lord and the power we are entitled to as missionaries. i got to shake his hand afterward and talk to him for a second but i dont even remember what either of us said to each other haha. i was really nervous. but that was way cool and by far one of the best talks i have ever heard.
proselyting last week was a lot better. i felt like i was able to communicate with the people better and testify better and handed out my book of mormon and a lot more pass along cards this time. we are going again in 2 days on friday and i think it might be our last time. we went to the sao paulo temple today but we couldnt go last week cuz we had to go to the federal police dept to get finger-printed for something, i dont know.
yeah the ctm food isn´t getting any tastier so i love p-days that much more now. we usually go to this burger place where i get a huge burger complete with cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, ham, and a fried egg and i think more. today we went to this little place down the street that makes kinda like home made hot pockets but they are fried and huge. very good and cheap. if i had my way i would be sitting down for a huge plate of mexican food and cold dr pepper right now but thats not happening any time soon. i am told that since my mission is on the coast, i will eat nothing but rice and beans and fish for the next 22 months. and something tells me its not gonna be anything like the delicious bass that dad cooks with some tarter sauce on the side. we´ll see.
like i said i am headed to the feild in less than 2 weeks so i am getting really anxious, especially since i have been emailing eduardo and he has been filling me in on all the details lately so i am ready to go. tell g-ma and g-pa sherwood and g-ma riggs that i mailed them letters a while back, i thought they would get them by now but probably soon.
i hope everyone at home is doing pretty good. bill romney and grandpa sherwood are definitely in my prayers. i love you all, enjoy life and the blessings of the gospel.
until next week,
-elder sherwood

I printed and took this to your mom at camp last night. She cried.
