hey everyone its been a pretty good week. i was happy to hear roxy screamed out my name and brazil during the primary program haha i think its pretty clear who her favorite is. we have some new investigators and are working hard with them.
to explain the pictures, picture #1 is because last p-day we traveled via bus to a sams club, the only one in the state with a member. i was so happy, i got to buy some stuff that doesnt exist here in brazil like flour tortillas, refried beans, salsa, guacamole, peanut butter, and more. but it was way expensive cuz it was all imported so i didnt buy much but i ate well this week. do you like the pose?picture #2 is awesome. this man is a LAMANITE...literally! he was recently baptized and they found out he is a direct descendent because they can trace back thru his ancestors and he is a 100% pure blood lamanite! pretty much its the coolest thing ever so i had to take a picture with him.
some new investigators include gabriel and maria, a mother and her son, and the son gabriel is a 12 year old genius. seriously its crazy and i like teaching him a lot. he has been investigating other churches and praying to find the truth... basically if i dont baptize this kid i will feel bad the rest of my life. also we have andreia, a 20 something woman who is progressing pretty well except she didnt show when we went to her house yesterday morning to take her to church. also we have marcos, this guy is interesting... a few days before, we were walking back to our house and this guy stopped us and said a few profound things and just wanted to bash with us. so we briefly said a few kind things and gave a pass along card and went on our way. a few days later, it was night time and we stopped by the chapel i dont know why, and 5 minutes later he showed up. we talked with him and ended up grabbing a room right there in the chapel and taught him the first lesson. it was powerful. turns out this guy´s life has been falling apart and he has been living on the street, and was praying for help that night and shortly thereafter wound up at the chapel when we just happened to arrive 5 minutes before. he hadnt had a shower or food in a couple days so we took him to the back of the church and ran and bought him some soap and let him shower there, then gave him a little money for food and he left. i hope we can progress well this week with all these people.
we had interviews with presidente fernandes this week and after me and elder firmo did a division with the zone leader for 24 hours and i went to another area an hour away and worked and slept there. it was pretty fun but i had to sleep with a mosquito net and i will probably have to start doing it every night here pretty soon which will be a bit unpleasent. also unpleasant is how breastfeeding is such a casual thing here. every woman does it everywhere, including during family home evening with the missionaries, sitting next to the missionaries in sacrament, etc.
