Brad's 20th Birthday in Brasil

Fabio & Samara Baptism!

well i dont even know where to start with this past week. the first half may have been the best of my mission so far and the second half was probably the worst.

wednesday was a good birthday and some friends of mine in the ward brought me over a cake and we had some fun (picture). thursday was even better, our long awaited baptism of fábio and samara. it was one of the greatest baptisms ever, the spirit was so strong (picture) and even better, daniel and andreia came (our golden/elect family/most wonderful people inthe world) and i think the spirit hit them really strong there and have a deep growing desire to be baptized. friday was when things went down hill.

i actually think it started earlier on in the week cuz at one of our lunch appointments it was so so dang hot in the house that while i was eating iwas sweating so bad that my face turned white and i got all dizzy and thought i was gonna pass out. anyway i kinda ignored it and we continued to work the next few days but on friday i started to have really bad stomach pains after lunch. so we went home to get some medicine and i sat down and got really cold all the sudden (when it was like 300 degrees) and i was shivering and my fingers were numb. then after a couple hours like that, i got really hot. thats when it got bad... i was really hot and had super bad stomach and head pains and bad fever and my whole body was hurting. it was some of the worst and wierdest pains i have ever been through. elder kittler and his companion came back to the house with a couple members and gave me a blessing and took me to the hospital, and they had to basically carry me cuz i couldn't even walk or stand up. i don't remember much about when i got to the hospital but i was shaking real bad cuz of the pain and they hooked me up to the IV´s and stuff and i think i passed out for a while.

when it looked like i was getting a little better, they released me in the middle of the night. but when i got home i didn't sleep at all cuz i spent the rest of that night and the next morning constantly throwing up. so elder kittler took me to the hospital again and i talked to a real doctor, who told me i had contracted one of the "tropical sicknesses" and took me to another room where they gave me a bunch of shots. i don't know what the heck was inside all those needles they stabbed in me but it stung like nothing i have ever felt. i stayed in there that day then they gave me a bunch of medicine and sent me home. so the past few days i have been recovering in the house but i hope i should be able to work again starting tomorrow.

if it would have been any other normal sunday, i for sure wouldn't have gone to church but i absolutely had to cuz there was almost literally no one there, cuz during this time of carnival in brazil all the members of the church leave on a big camping trip. so it was only one member of the bishopric and a couple other people so i had to bless and pass the sacrament and talk in church and all the other stuff so it would have been impossible for me to stay home. plus i didnt wanna leave any investgators we have there all alone. so thats it, i hope this week is better and i never pass through anything like this again.

How scary to have a sick son so far away but I love the fact that elder kittler gave brad his blessing. What a might change of heart.
