Nayara

{This was an email he sent April 6, 2009- but it never got to us}

half done? yeah. actually more than half, but now that me and drew are hitting our hump days, time has never gone by faster.

conference was freaking cool. a good friend of mine, Paulo Loreiro from são paulo, was called as an area authority but you guys probably didn't hear it in the middle of the other 500 names called. i loved the clip of pres monson during the last hymn. he is truly a prophet of god and i know every single one of you felt it confirmed to you at that part. among my favorite talks given were allan f. packer, steven e. snow, among many others. jeffrey r. holland´s talk about the atonement was very powerful, but my favorite, as almost always, was dallin h. oaks. i love his talks cuz the man doesn't mess around. he gets down to business and tells it how it is (and how it should be). but they were all great, and i think it was my favorite conference until now. unfortunately i didnt catch the priesthood session cuz it came on at like 10 at night, but i heard many good things about it so i will have to get caught up in next month's Liahona.

we had an AWESOME baptism on thursday night, her name is Nayara (picture) and she is 18, i think i talked about her a few weeks ago. we started teaching her almost a month ago and she has been keeping the commitments and progressing really well, but it has been hard to get her to church, but now she has been coming. she is the cousin of Thiago, that 17 year old guy i baptized a couple months ago. now that he has the priesthood we had him baptize her, (picture) and it was a really, really great night because everybody came and she has even been going to seminary every night so everything is working out well.

we have a lot of people lined up to teach this coming week so we will be really busy. my son elder p. silva (picture) is doing pretty good, although it seems like he has a really hard time learning things so it requires a lot of patience. but he is improving and i really love the man. he is so humble and we get along great.

the weird thing about conference this time was it was different for me...the entire time all i could think about was ´´i hope daniel and andréia are watching this´´. i am sure they were, cuz i called the missionaries in their new area and told them to take care of everything and tonight i am gonna call the bishop there and explain their whole situation and get them on the road to BAPTISM and the TEMPLE! but it was a really different feeling, rather than just thinking the whole time about how this can better my own life, but how this can help my investigators and recent converts. i love the people here and all my chances to serve them!!!

até mais
