we have had a pretty busy week. lots of clapping houses and talking to people on the streets and teaching, but not with too many results. we go through so many new people every day and every week that it is almost impossible to know who of all of them we will still hold on to by the end of the week, who will keep their commitments and come to church or be baptized.

we do have one man we are working a lot with lately, his name is Evandro and he is a really cool guy, he accepted us well and we taught him and it was clear to see he is a very successful man, but as he explained it, there is definitely something missing in his life. he doesnt even know what it is but he is looking for it. we assured him that what was missing was the lord and His church, and that all of the answers he is looking for are in the restored gospel. he felt the spirit really strong during the 1st lesson and things are looking pretty good for now with him. we are gonna have to help him resolve a lot of problems with his wife. other than him, we have one more 16 year old guy that is the son of a recent convert who just moved here. we taught him and took them both to church and he seemed to learn some new things. this week we will find out how we can progress with him more.

the rain pattern here is getting pretty old.... it started a few days ago and has not stopped for 5 minutes since then. the other night we saw a car hit a guy on a motorcycle and he flew off and i think almost died, right in front of us. it seems like stuff like that happens on like a weekly basis to us, its wierd.

we had a conference last tuesday and it was pretty good, i got to see a lot of good friends i havent seen in like 6 or 9 months. our visitors were presidente and sister woodward, pres of the brazil ctm. this week we will have interviews with pres fernandes.

not too much more, all i ask of you guys is MORE LETTERS! also, no one filled me in on the smallville business i asked about..... please do!

with much love,
elder sherwood
