12th Companion: Elder Natividade
dear everyone,
we had a really good christmas here, it was great to talk to all of you on the phone and know that all is well back home, and that i will be back in time for the birth of my new nephew. after the calls we went and had a big christmas dinner at the house of a couple in the ward who invited us, and it might have been the best meal i have had since i set foot in south america. it was a fun way to spend my last holiday as a full time missionary and you can see the pictures attached.
we started the week with 4 baptisms marked for sunday, and up to now it looks like 3 of them will definitely work out perfect. we are teaching 3 young men, not from the same group of friends but they kinda know each other. it actually worked out cuz last week until sunday we had worked really hard to get new people to take to church, and we had like 10 lined up but as always, sunday morning always magically brings sicknesses and trips and other excuses, but we don't bother will that stuff... if someone doesn't want anything, we just move on to find someone else who does! so we ended up at church with hardly anybody, but thankfully some other young men in the ward invited a couple friends, and another guy we have been trying to get to go forever we were able to take, so it all worked out and we have spent the past couple weeks teaching them and preparing them for sunday. their names are Wesley, Henrique, and Túlio. i will send the pics next week on p-day which will be wednesday.
transfer is next week and i will obviously get a new comp (elder natividade will be catching a plane) and i will for sure stay here in Mossoró. besides being insanely hot here, its a good place, we are eating a lot of PAPAYA and i have never eaten so much mango- there are several different kinds here and every street is full of trees for the picking.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and i am certain 2010 will be a fantanstic year for all!
love, Elder Sherwood

By the way Elder Sherwood, your speculations of a newphew (or a niece) on the way won't be confirmed until February!
