Email 1/6/2010

Email Received January 6, 2010
7th Area: Mossoró- Belo Horizonte
13th Companion: Elder Küster

so now that elder natividade is officially on the plane headed home, i am awaiting my new companion who will be Elder Küster, who is a gaúcho aka from rio grande do sul. i am not really sure how much time he has in the mission but i will know everything when he gets here in a few hours. we had a ton of changes in the zone of mossoró so today is one of those fun p-days of sitting in the bus station all day. also, the council will probably be next week so once again my email might delay a day or 2.

the work has been going really great lately, i love when we have ´´too much to do´´ and have to run around to get everything done. the time goes by so much faster and the work is more joyful -- you can really just forget yourself and get lost in the service of others. our 3 baptisms worked out this last sunday (picture) of túlio, wesley, and henrique. now we will continue to work with them to be confirmed and shortly after, ordained. there are a lot of others we have to work with and this transfer will be a lot better than the last and we´ll see a lot more results. we are teaching the guy that cuts our hair and his wife, who will have to marry before we can see anything happen, but they are great people and i am sure it will all work out with them.

the other pictures are of the big dinner we had in the stake president´s house, him and his wife do it every year as a tradition for all the missionaries in the zone. it was perfect- probably the 2nd best meal i have had since i got here (the first was mentioned last week) and just look in the picture-- all that was JUST the dessert! 10 different kinds!!! yep it was a huge success and Presidente Araújo and his wife are some of the best people i know here. speaking of food i decided on the first place i am gonna eat when i get home. it will be CHIPOTLE and that's my final answer.

here is a missionary quote i liked:

"You are called to represent the Savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to lift the same as His hands. His work is to bless His Father's spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. So, your calling is to bless lives." -Henry B. Eyring

with love,
ELDER SHERWOOD

okay . . . i loved this letter.
too much work to do and ten kinds of dessert.
i hope they ate dessert first.
you know - in keeping with the sherwood tradition!
drew would be happy with a chipotle first meal.
but, i think his will be taco bell in atlanta.
what a waste!

I loved this letter as well. Tanner Flaherty talking in Sac. Meeting yesterday about service and how it is not always convenient, but blesses lives and I thought of that when I read this. He is doing a great service and making the most of it. What an honorable son. Blessings.
