"This is Lidiane- she is an elect" (and then the email cutoff)

Currais Novos with Elder Alan

everyone,

greetings from the beautiful land of brasil. so that zone meeting that i was looking forward to for a month and a half to get my letters and packages was cancelled, so i had to wait another week and a half til mission conference which will be later this week. conference will be in campina grande, which is like 6 hours away, so we will half to leave the night before for caico and stay the night there and then travel the rest of the way in the morning.

so its been an interesting week. last monday after i got done writing my emails we got a call saying that 2 more elders were coming to live with us and they were arriving in a couple hours. (because of the new branch here, they split the area) so for the past week we have had them living with us and its been a lot of fun cuz they are both pretty cool guys. although its been a little inconvenient having 4 of us crammed in our appartment, and cuz they are stealing half of our investigators so they will get to baptize the people we have been teaching haha. but we have been doing divisions where we switch companions for the day to show them the area and have them meet the members and investigators and stuff which is wierd cuz now i´m the one who is expected to know the area and everyone and everything in it. but it has been a lot of fun. so they will be living here for a while, transfers are next week and i am sure they will stay, and i am pretty positive me and my comp will be transferred to different areas. but who knows...

we baptized Lidiane this week, it was great, she is one who is definitely prepared for the gospel. oh yeah a lady fed us liver the other day and if any of you have not had the grand pleasure of eating it i will tell you its disgusting. maybe its just the way brazilians cook it i dont know. so i am looking forward to my mail this week and maybe by this time next week i will be in a different area. the church is true, brazil is the bomb, and the gift of tongues is REAL. i can testify of all 3!!!! here is my quote for the week: "he who is sorowful can force himself to smile, but he who is glad cannot weep" -selma lagerlof

1) Brad looks like a giant in that photo!

2) I don't know who Selma Lagerlof is, but I beg to differ with this quote: ". . . he who is glad cannot weep." I do it ALL the time.
