2nd Area: Cidade Verde

sounds like everyone at home is doing pretty well, except for ASU. whats the deal? another loss this week? hopefully they will be in good shape by the time i get home. things have been really good this past week, we finally baptized Mara yesterday which was great cuz it was looking like we weren´t gonna be able to until the last minute the Lord answered our prayers and things worked out. so i will tell more about that here in a second, but first i must wish suzanne a happy birthday this week! sorry i wont make it to the party.
so yesterday was one of the best days of mission so far i think. we had some investigators show up at church that we weren´t expecting, so that was awesome. Then after church we went back to the house and cooked a huge lunch. Our lunch appt. left out of town & they left us money so saturday we went and bought a bunch of stuff, and after church cooked 2 huge delicious pizzas and had ice cream afterward. then best of all, things worked out with mara that night (picture) and it was one of the most spiritual baptisms i have been to. she is one of the nicest people i have ever met and she was so prepared and ready and she was crying. it was double great cuz she received the holy ghost yesterday too. usually we do it the next sunday, but she is having a minor surgery so she wont be able to make it to church the next 2 sundays. so after the baptism, us and a member of the bishopric laid our hands on her head and gave her the gift of the holy ghost. the spirit was VERY strong there. she has a friend thats a member that doesnt live in the city but she came to the baptism and was asking "who are the 2 elders that taught my friend the gospel" and she found out it was us and kept thanking us over and over. she was crying and very grateful. afterwards we went to a members house with her and a bunch of members. there was food and stuff there and it was just a great day.
this area is pretty tough but we have been praying and the lord placed some people in our path this week. we have some new investigators i will tell about next week. i will get my letters on the 30th at a conference. be on the look-out for elder sherwood to burn a tie here in a couple weeks to celebrate 6 months.

totally love happy baptism stories. i'm so excited for elder brad.
Six month, WOW!!! Mara already has a strong testimony and I'm so glad Brad had such a spiritual experience. I can't believe how much our boys are growing.
