hey everyone, so conference was changed to yesterday and p-day is today thats why i am writing now. i got all my letters and thank you to everyone, and mom for the package and halloween decorations. you better believe they are already up in my apartment. i am not missing out on my favorite holiday just cuz this country doesnt celebrate it.
what a week. its been ridiculously hotter lately, and its only gonna get worse now that winter is over. the mid-summer, in november, december and january will be heck. we have a few new investigators, although some of them we are gonna have to cut loose here pretty soon if they don't stop being lazy and start following up on their commitments. one we have is awesome, her name is neire and she is the sister of ecionaede, who we married to marcelo and baptized a few weeks ago. we started teaching her and she had a few doubts, but we explained to her how to receive an answer if the livro de mormon is true, so she read the parts we marked that night and asked god if it was true. usually the investigators get their answer while reading or praying, but she didnt so she was confused. but after, she fell asleep, and dreamed someone was telling her it was true, and she felt the spirit really really strong in her sleep, and when she woke up the next morning, she knew it was true. its amazing to see how everybody´s answers are different but they always come with faith, which she has. so we are working with her and she is progressing well and hopefully we will baptize her this next week.
we had an awesome and interesting oppurtunity on wednesday, a reporter guy from the university stopped us on the street and asked if he could do an interview with us, so we marked an appt with him and met him and 2 others at the church, where they had tape recorders and things like that and they sat for an hour and just asked us tons of questions about the church and beliefs and stuff like that it was really cool. they wrote down everything we said and are gonna do a report or something i dont know but it was an awesome experience cuz some of the questions were not very easy and the spirit prompted me to say a lot of things.
friday we helped a lady in the ward clear out a field behind her house, basically it was me and elder firmo for 3 hours chopping weeds with big blades. i got to literally "thrust in my sickle" and it resulted in a sunburn and blisters on my hands, which didnt feel too good the next day when we helped another member move all the furniture out of his house.
conference yesterday was excellent as always, hang out in air conditioning all day, see friends, learn from presidente fernandes who may be the strictest and most serious, yet funniest man alive. by the way i think everyone is probably pronouncing these things wrong...
presidente fernandes is "presidenchee fehrnunjeez"...
currais novos is "koohise know-voos"...
and cidade verde is "seedajee verjee"...
yes i know portuguese is freaking wierd. speaking of cidade verde this may be my last week here who knows, transfers are monday so i will know by the next email. but i am hoping to stick with elder firmo at least one more transfer.
bênçãos no brasil,

Bradley Keith's and Drew's emails are on Monday, Brads on Tuesday. Doesn't BK know that the universe is thrown out of alignment if we don't hear from him at the designated time!!!! I'm glad he is doing well and teaching up a storm. Maybe broadcast journalism could be the future job for him.
it's seriously SO not thoughtful to get off schedule email-wise.
i'm glad it was only off by one day.
any more than that would be completely unacceptable.
and, please don't let it happen again!
