5th Area: Joao Pessoa-Tibiri
8th Companion: Elder Amarante
ATTENTION: now that i have 9 months or less remaining in the mish, you all have my permission to get pregnant, cuz now i will be there when the babies are born.
in other news, congratulations to my comp elder emarante, for saying his first successful prayer in english the other night with me. it was about 10 minutes long and like 12 words, but after 2 months of teaching him, i am very proud of the man. also, everyone here has been giving me crap for USA losing to BRAZIL in the big soccer game this past week haha (here in brazil soccer is not just a game- its life).
we baptized Gilvandro yesterday (picture) and he is awesome. his aunt is a sweet old lady in the ward that loves the missionaries and always wants us to visit her and stuff (other picture) so a few weeks ago we were eating lunch at her house and he came by and sat down and started eating with us and we were talking to him about how awesome of an experience a mission is and before we knew it we were teaching him the lessons. he actually was taught by the missionaries a few years ago but didn't have any interest. this time the spirit hit him really strong and he knew that he not only needed to be baptized, but serve a mission! (here in 3-4 years)
we haven't officially moved out yet, but we found a house this week and even though it wasn't in our price range, we talked the owner down to what we need and didn't give us an answer until the next day, when we found an apartment that is also pretty good. so for sure on wednesday we will be moving, but not sure to which one. the apartment is nice but super small, and the house is a little bigger but FULL of giant lizards and i even saw a taurantula spider there. either way we gotta leave quick cuz they are gonna cut our power any day now.
being in 2 wards, we have opportunities every week to give talks, bless and pass the sacrament, teach the gospel principles class, and much more in our afternoon ward that has a serious inactivity problem. we´ve cut a lot of people out but hopefully new ones are waiting for us for this week.
com muito amor,
elder sherwood
